Each of the three interns was paired with a Peris Project Manager, who acted as their mentor, both in the field and in the office. The mentors were responsible for making sure each intern left the internship with an understanding of what it takes to bring a construction project from beginning to end.

“It was important for Peris to give each intern a complete overview and understanding of what their work life will be after graduation,” said Peris Construction President & CEO Jeff Pellegrino. “It was a lot for any student to take in over just one summer, but we couldn’t have been more impressed with how quickly and professionally these young people grabbed it all.”

Aside from field and office work, the Peris internship included social activities over the summer, as well as an architectural tour of the U.S. Capitol, a visit to the White House, and a night out at Nationals Park to watch the Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies.

“We couldn’t be more pleased with the job performance and work ethics each of our interns displayed this year,” said Peris Birch Construction Services President and CEO Elizabeth Birch. “It was a joy watching each of them grow as professionals and as people over the summer. “
